A truly magnificent bangle bracelet from the Victorian (ca1880) era! This exceptional piece is highly?detailed and has a very striking appearance. The extra wide bangle is crafted in 18kt gold and adorned with a rich Victorian starburst and trefoil motif. A deep black enamel stripe lines the sterling center of the bangle, creating a bold, dark canvas?with a rich, glossy finish. Set within the enameled surface are three sparkling old Mine Cut diamonds, each surrounded by a striking carved starburst motif. Completing the design is a lovely trefoil border that lines the top and bottom edges. Each trefoil is comprised of three shimmery natural pearls, surrounded by a raised bezel setting. The sparkling white diamonds and lustrous white pearls stand out dramatically against the dark black background, accenting the design perfectly. The bracelet clasps securely at the side, and has a safety chain for added security. A heavy and substantial antique bracelet, it is an?outstanding statement piece, and would make an impressive addition to any Victorian collection!
Measurements: The surface of the bracelet measures 1 1/4" wide. The inside opening (where your wrist would rest) measures approximately 2 1/4" wide and 2" tall. It would fit nicely on a medium/average sized wrist.
Condition: The overall condition of the bracelet is excellent. Besides normal surface wear, there is no apparent damage to the gold setting?or to the enameled detail, which is free of any significant chips or scratches. All three diamonds are intact and securely set, as are all of the pearls. The clasp and safety chain are snug and secure, and the hinge is in good working condition. There is some normal surface wear?on the underside of the bangle, which is not unusual for a Victorian piece, and not noticeable when the piece is worn.
